We recently went to Steve's 40th 60's theme birthday party. We had so much fun as you will see, thanks to Lisa and Chris for all your help with our costumes. Everyone really got into their outfits, the girls were looking very cute in those 60's dresses and the guys really pulled off some wild looking hairdoo's. Mary and Steve did a great job planning this party, the food was awesome, the host house was so beautiful and was a great place to hold such a wonderful event. We really had a great time with all ours friends dancing, drinking, and just hanging out an celebrating Steve's 40th birthday!!

A day with Steph & Miles

I recently spent the day with Steph and Miles. He is getting so big, it's hard to believe he is going to be 1 in June! He is not walking yet but is crawling up a storm. He really likes his baby tricycle but being the typical boy he prefers to stand on the seat rather than sit on it. We went to their weekly Gymboree class and boy did Miles have a blast! It's so much fun watching him learn and discover the world! He is just so precious! And as you can imagine I cherish every moment spent with him!

Recent trip to Truckhaven, near Salton Sea for some Jeeping!!!

We recently made one last trip down to Truckhaven which is near the Salton Sea. It was a perfect weekend with some great jeeping and warm sunshine. Everyone kept their Jeep's on all fours this time with only a few really close calls. We camped in a new spot near some very fun notches and sandy washes, as you will see it was pretty tight getting out of some of them. With the weather getting warmer we won't be going down there anymore this year so our next trips will be in Big Bear, so stay tuned for some pictures from up there.

Jeff & Linda's New Home

Ken's oldest Brother Jeff and his fiance Linda just recently moved to Texas and purchased a new home. As you will see they are having fun decorating it. Recently they experienced their first snow fall, (hope they have some snow boots LOL) looks like a lot of fun. They also both recently just celebrated birthdays with some friends at a local honky tonk. Hopefully we can make a trip out to visit them soon.

Demi Rae

Demi is our one and only niece. She was born on April 4, 1998, to her proud parents Kevin & Tami. She loves spending time with friends and family at Lake Havasu as well as Catalina! Demi is involved in a local children's theater group called Christian Arts Theater or CATS for short. She has appeared in several of their productions including, The Secret Garden, Honk, 101 Dalmatians and just recently in Wind in the Willows. She loves performing and hopefully soon we may even see her on the television. We are very proud of her and love her very much!

Our New Nephew, Miles

Stephanie is Arica's one and only younger sister. Stephanie & Jonathan were married on May 27, 2000. They had their first child on June 23, 2007 (which was his Auntie Arica's 36th birthday, what an awesome birthday present!!), Jonathan Miles Ito Wilson, they call him Miles. As you can see he is the cutest baby boy ever born, not that we are biased!! He has two front lower teeth and is crawling like crazy. He also likes to pull himself up and stand in front of anything that will hold still long enough. He is so precious and we love him very much!!! We look forward to spending lots of time with him and taking him all kinds of fun places!!

A Quick Trip To Calico

Here are a few pictures from a quick day trip to Calico. After a day on the trails Robert, Kevin and myself decided we try our luck on running The Gate Keeper. This is probably the most difficult section in the area. It is located at the entrance to one of the trails we ran earlier in the day which we used the by-pass then. We all removed our doors because we new there was a huge possibility of body damage on this climb. After several minutes of discussions on which is the best and easiest line I volunteered to go first (probably not the smartest idea). This was probably the hardest climb I have ever attempted. I made it 3/4 ways up before I needed assistance via my winch line. Fortunately for Kevin and Robert we discovered the right line real quick. They both were able to make it with out any assistance; I guess it doesn’t pay to go first all the time!!! LOL We can't wait to go back and try our luck again!

Parker, AZ Jeep trip February 2008

Well we spent this past President's Weekend out in Parker, AZ. We went with our usual Jeep group and some new members who had experienced a very exciting first trip! Friday found us out on a new trail Mark Buoye had located on the California side of the river. This trial was really fun and had some very challenging obstacles and waterfalls that only a few Jeeps went through, (we will have to get back to this trail next time and complete the whole trail)!! Saturday we planned to all meet on the road headed towards the Desert Bar. We first planned to run Presidents Trail which most of us had already ran the previous years. This trail is only about 1 1/2 miles long with several waterfall obstacles. We started at the end of the trail with the hardest obstacle called the Launch Pad. Only a couple of us went up it before Rick and his wife tried their luck at it, they were in their new jeep they had just purchased (I did not know they had never jeeped before). Well as you will see things did not go as well as they had hoped for. As they approached the climb they thought they were on the right line but that was not the case. Unfortunately as they approached the top the jeep started to bounce and move towards the left then the jeep became off balance and probably by hitting the brakes caused the jeep to fall over backwards forcing them to fall right on to their top and then over on to their side. Fortunately no one was hurt besides the jeep and their pocket book, just a few bumps & bruises and their pride are the only things that felt the pain. (Rick said they will be back and with a vengeance, we can't wait). After up righting the jeep and getting it to a safe area we continued to another trail Mark had located, this one was called "Bad Joe Falls". This trail was best one of the weekend, there were several water falls and very challenging climbs. I think all in all we got through this one with minimal body damage and just a few scrapes on the under caraige. Over all I couldn't think of a better place to go wheeling on a great weekend with awesome friends and beautiful weather. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful weekend!!!!
